DESCRIPTION: SS 316 & 316L is an austenitic Chromium-Nickel steel with superior corrosion resistance. Type 316L is an extra-low carbon version of Type 316 that eliminates harmful carbide precipitation due to welding.

APPLICATIONS: Bursting discs, Seals, Bellows, Gaskets, Expansion joints, Explosion panels, Tubes, Diaphragms and components in chemical, Petrochemical, Food processing equipment, Brewery equipment, Heat exchangers, Springs, Laboratory benches & equipment, Coastal balustrading and Marine applications.

Type 316L: Carbon: 0.03% max., Silicon: 0.75% max., Manganese: 2.00% max., Phosphorus: 0.045% max., Sulfur: 0.030% max., Nickel: 10.00-14.00%, Chromium: 16.00-18.00%, Molybdenum: 2.00-3.00%, Nitrogen: 0.10% max., Iron: balance.

Thickness

From 0.10 mm (0.004”) to 1.2 mm (0.047”). Tolerance: +/-0.005 mm to +/-0.01mm. For other thicknesses, inquire.

Width

From 8.00 mm (0.315”) to 650 mm (26”). Tolerance: +/-0.05mm to +/-0.10mm. For other widths, inquire.
